Jeremy Gardiner is a contemporary artist from England. Gardiner works in many different materials, but his landscape paintings are his most well known pieces. Gardiner was born in West Germany in 1957, but later moved to Great Britain where he has pursued his artistic education and career. He received his bachelors in fine arts from Newcastle University, and later received his masters at the Royal College of Art.

Living in the UK, much of Gardiner's work depicts natural scenes from the countryside. His paintings focus on changes in nature over time, and the power of natural forces. Much of his work is actually multi-media, incorporating scientific research, digital media, photography, and more alongside his painting. His work also features vibrant colors portraying the landscapes in more abstract ways.

I really like his work. It is interesting how much detail he fits into the images while changing the colors and textures so much. I really enjoy the color palettes of each painting, and being able to intentionally choose a color scheme rather than having to paint exactly what was pictured in the scene originally allows for really interesting and manipulation of emotions in his works. While I don't intend on changing my work to have a selected color palette, I can take inspiration from how he depicts certain parts of the scene such as the depth or shading that he achieves. Overall I really enjoy his work, and I think taking inspiration in certain aspects can help me further my own works.
